Now the dust has settled...
Posted on 22.12.2007
Well now the dust has settled and I've had a chance to get my breath, how was that?!
The all new, organically modified, Salvation turned in a muscular, rockin' half hour set as they returned to the public stage for the first time in 16 years supporting the March Violets at Leeds Metropolitan University on 8/12/07.
Lined up alongside George, Danny, and Ben, were young guns, guitarist Paul and bassist Jason, members of Leeds finest, King Tonka; (whilst Jason also once played with the dirty rock machine that was La Costa Rasa)
The latest version of the beast saw Danny in fine voice as 400 odd young, and not so young, bodies cheered on the musical hit machine.
The enthusiastically received half hour set, that saw the years roll away, comprised:
The Answer
(Clearing out The) Debris
She's an Island
Sunshine Superman
Puppet Master
Diamond Child
All and More
Listen to Her Heart
Massive thanks go to the March Violets for the invite to play and the impetus for this gig to happen. Also to Screaming Banshee Aircrew, Chris Reed and 25 Men for all helping to create a great, ego-less day.
The Met crew and Gary Weight should also be congratulated for all their hard work that contributed to the smooth running of the event.
And MOST CERTAINLY THANKYOU to Paul and Jason for helping make the impossible happen, in a most alarmingly impressive way!
Almost as exciting was the the Met's bar which saw many accquaintances renewed and friendships reforged.
A splendid night all round!
So, whilst my Crystal Ball does not forsee a 50 date European tour in the near future, gentle pressure in the right direction might help our case for a jaunt to Whitby. You know what to do!
MYSPACE
On other matters...
In the New Year we will be starting up a MySpace site. By this medium we hope to be able to keep in better contact with you, as well as offer merchandise and other amazing things, when we can think of some. So keep your eyes peeled for future notification of progress here.
We may still attempt to set up a forum through this site but that remains to be seen as we have been experiencing problems with the e-mail system. At present the 'contact Salvation' option is not functioning, so please don't try and contact the band via this site. We'll post in the news when it is working properly again!
Finally a Happy Christmas and a very Happy 2008 to all those who read this and those of you we met again recently in Leeds.
Thanks for your continuing support and we hope to see you again in 2008, hopefully in a full on live situation!
Eve xxx

Salvation in Shock Gig Announcement!
Posted on 21.11.2007
SALVATION are back! ...... Well for one night at least.
Yes, the March Violets have done what no one else in 16 years and two months has managed.
Danny Mass has accepted an invitation to support the March Violets at their eagerly anticipated Homecoming Show in Leeds on 8th December 2007.
This will be the first Salvation public performance since they exited stage left at The Duchess of York on 8th October 1991. and possibly the last for another 16 years, so don't miss it!
THIS IS THE ONLY GIG CURRENTLY PLANNED
Details are still being confirmed and whilst the line- up is strictly under wraps, there are suggestions that the drummer may be from Keighley and a Gallic superstar DJ may be dusting off his Les Paul.........but I hasten to add that all of this is speculation at present, apart from the fact that Danny will be singing.
In fact it's so secret that only Danny seems to know the full details.
What is certain is:
- Salvation are playing Live
- On Saturday 8th December 2007
- At Leeds Metropolitan University, formerly Leeds Poly
- Tickets are £15 available from outlets as laid out in the link below
- March Violets are headlining a 5 Band Bill
- Salvation are SECOND on, this means early. So do your drinking and carousing later and make sure you are in soon after doors, which I believe are 7.30pm
- Salvation will be playing an approximately 30 minute, probably, 8 Song set.
- This Link will give you all the main details about the show as a whole including travel details
It promises to be a strange and wonderful night.
Hopefully, we'll see as many of the old and new fans and followings there as possible.
So dust of your old T -Shirts and kit bags and let's see you down the front. Perhaps most importantly this would be an ideal opportunity to meet, remember and raise a glass to Wayne Moran and celebrate his unstable pyramid building.
See you there,
Eve x
PS Oh yes .........there's no Guest list, just like Keele University ...but no climbing over the roof this time please.

Wayne Moran RIP
Posted on 21.11.2007
Wayne Moran a long time supporter and friend of Salvation died suddenly on 24th September 2007 at the age of 36.
Despite suffering from severe asthma attacks Wayne managed to nearly ruin his education in the late 80’s by embarking on the hazardous profession of hardcore band follower.
His cheery smile and frankly, toxic kit bag were a very welcome sight at hitching points and Venues the length and breadth of the country.
A man whose glass was always half full, Wayne’s good humour, loyalty, sense of fun and camaraderie were infectious. He was a good friend too many and will be sorely missed.
Wayne despite his health problems had an amazingly positive outlook on life and lived it to the full. This is how we and we imagine many others will remember him.
We would like to extend our sympathy to his family and friends at this dark time and hope that they find strength and some comfort in the outpouring of warmth and love that peoples’ remembrance of Wayne has elicited.
RIP Wayne.
